Cafes, Tearooms & Snack Bars around Stirling

The Burgh Coffeehouse

4 King St, Stirling FK8 1AY, UK – 01786 450333

It a friendly, relaxing place to be. The staff are knowledgeable and helpful. They have a smile for everybody. I admire the variety of coffees they manage to produce. They roast their own and really make an effort to get it right for their customers. In addition to great coffee, they have a fine selection of teas as well as tasty bites and snacks. A really good experience.

This place has tried to achieve a shabby chic look but in reality is more shabby than chic. There is a certain amount of character but overall the place seems tired and somewhat dirty. The toilets exemplifiy this, they are grubby and are clearly not cleaned frequently enough. Stains the the floor around the basin and a very dirty fan grill show the unfortunate neglect that so many venues like this have. As a plea to the owner, please improve your basic cleaning! Customers do notice! Food wise, it's fairly average. Everything looks bought in. The sandwiches are plastic wrapped affairs in a chiller which you take to the counter. My overall impression is that there is a lot of potential here that is just missed. It seems like the owner is not that engaged with improving things and has become complacent.

Sable and Flea

12 friars Street, Stirling FK8 1HA, UK – 01786 475597

Wonderful food and awesome coffee. Beautifully 'shabby chic' with some terrific vintage finds. The garden is gorgeous in the sun.

Stopped in for a quick bite, my fiancé had the homemade soup and I had a baguette. Soup was awesome and took a takeaway coffee. After being in Edinburgh for a few days and not having a decent coffee this little gem of a cafe did the job very well. The owners were lovely and had a good chat

The Bluebell Tearoom

1A Pitt Terrace, Stirling FK8 2EZ, UK – 07580 914740

Good selection of food and gluten free options. All very tasty. Just a pity about the proprietor admonishing staff within earshot of customers and being quite snarky in general. Obviously has different ways of treating locals and visitors too.

My fav in Stirling. Really friendly. Caters for almost every dietary requirement I can think of! Popular with locals and visitors and always has a wonderful selection of cakes. Atmosphere is very welcoming and it is a gem. Many ingredients are locally sourced and the bacon is beautiful! Probably one of the best for lunch and breakfast in forth valley if you are gluten free!

Blue Lagoon Fish & Chips

63 Port St, Stirling FK8 2ER, UK – 01786 450087

Golden Bird

53 Cowane St, Stirling FK8 1JP, UK – 01786 461601

Really tasty and fresh fish. The people working there were really kind- I think they were about to close but they started the fried back up for me! Great place to stop on your way to the castle.

Great food, i love the cheese-n-burger, but it's pot luck if they get the order right if you ask for it to be delivered. Last night my chips were cold and the burger wasn't on a roll which soaks up the flavour and makes it much tastier. I recommend picking the order up so you know what you're getting.

Sandwich Bars, Deliveries & Lunchtime Snack Outlets around Stirling

Nicky-Tams Bar and Bothy

29 Baker St, Stirling FK8 1BJ, UK – 01786 472194

Bar staff are great, really friendly. Standard selection of beer and ciders available on tap and bottles. Spirits, soft drinks and wine also available. Ladies toilets are upstairs and not wheelchair accessible. Men's toilets are dowbstairs, accessible by ramp but as the facilities are small, may prove challenging to wheelchair users. Food is really good and very reasonably priced. Wait time is usually fair but at peak times some patience may be required

Went with 4 friends for beer and lunch. Great selection of well kept beers. Reasonable selection of pub grub. Steak pie went done well. Only downside is it is a smallish pub so could not sit comfortably with all 5 at a table.

Tartan Arms

45 Main St, Bannockburn, Stirling FK7 8LX, UK – 01786 812256

Late lunch with friends Popped in at 2.30pm for lunch, that's the great thing about the Tartan Arms they serve late lunches. 6 of us and everyone had a great meal. 2 x Soup and sandwich combo, X gammon salad - my personal favourite (if you want pickled onions on your salad just ask) the Cajun kebab, and the burger. The standard of food is why they have such a loyal following and why during normal lunch and dinner hours it is recommended that you book your table. We only noticed the dessert boards on leaving, but we did debate sitting down to enjoy warm caramel shortbread or the strawberry and Malibu concoction but someone's shift started at 5pm so out the door we went. We will be back - perhaps this time only for desserts.

An old pub, restaurant and venue. Lots of character. Owned by the same family for a long time. Popular and large. Could do with a refresh. Staff friendly. Food better than average for a reasonable price.

Brewers Fayre Pirnhall Inn

Glasgow Rd, Whins of Milton, Stirling FK7 8EX, UK – 01786 811256

Great lunch stop on our journey. Good value 2 for the price of one on selected mains. Soft drinks slightly more pricey, but refills are available.

A lovely dinner with my husband. The service was great. The food was delicious. The place was a bit untidy with stuff laying on the floor. Napkins and discarded food.

Takeaway Food

McDonald's

54 Murray Pl, Stirling FK8 2BX, UK – 01786 451529

Staff not paid anywhere near enough. Violent scummy customers. Angelic professional staff.

Busy place, but service is fast so no waiting, good fast food, burgers, fries, breakfast selection is also very good, selection of coffees are also available.

Burger King

19 Springkerse Retail Pk, Stirling FK7 7TL, UK – 01786 446100

If you fancy a McDonald's but its payday... Go here!! Soooo much better than mcdonalds but expensive for fast food, you get what you pay for though!! Still feel full and hour later

This was a great place for a quick snack and a place for my grandson to play in the kids area.

Pizza Express

The Thistles Shopping Centre, Murray Pl, Stirling FK8 2BX, UK – 01786 451844

Expensive Italian restaurant in Stirling city center. Flavours are authentic. Service is bit slow but maybe worth the wait as every dish is prepared afresh. Options for vegetarians are limited. But will recommend for one time visit.

Food and service were good. Quality consistent with what you would expect from this chain of restaurants
