TSB Bank

52 Murray Pl, Stirling FK8 2BX, UK – 01786 399998

Used ths bank all my life, honestly say I have never had a single issue, had all queries delt with swiftly and found the staff both friendly and professional. No plans to ever change bank for this reason.

An excellent bank, comfortable and clean. The staff are courteous and helpful. The one downside is that there is no free parking nearby, only paid up the road or in the Thistles or permit parking directly outside. There's also a cash machine outside.

Allan Park Medical Practice

19 Allan Park, Stirling FK8 2QD, UK – 01786 451375

The staff has always been very kind to me, and I am impressed by how much care Dr Fyall has given me, considering how obnoxious the process of finding the right med has been! He is a great doctor and a great person. I'm happy I got assigned this clinic!

I have been with Allan Park for 10 years. The staff are great, friendly and helpful. The G.P's themselves are very good. I have seen all of them at one point or another over 10 years. Dr.Gaskill, who is noe retired, was one of the best and most honest doctors I have ever had. Dr.Steele I would likewise, she really listens, makes you feel comfortable and seems to really care about her patients. Two newer doctors Dr.Dunsmore is very good, really listens, gives you time and you don't feel rushed and she is very easy to talk to. Dr. Phall, I have only seen a couple of times but he seems very genuine and friendly. I suffer from really bad anxiety and other problems and find it really hard to talk my problems and usually feel very uncomfortable. The staff and doctors at Allan park have never once been rude to me or made me feel uncomfortable. I'm very happy that I'm with them as they genuinely seem to care and want to help. I went through a really bad time a few years ago after a break up and doctor Stelle was brilliant and really took time out to help me and make sure I was safe and sound. Very good practice

Kalmed Clinic

Springfield House, Laurelhill Business Park, Stirling FK7 9JQ, UK – 01786 406410

I did not pay enough attention at school to learn words powerful enough to praise this clinic and doctor. Beverly Hills style healthcare has landed in Stirling. Do not fear the "private bills" as they are not as bad as one may think. Besides can you really truly put a price on health? if you are already considering going private then like me you most probably already reached this conclusion. I recently suffered a very rare but debilitating condition. I thought I possibly had a stroke so I had little choice but to go to my gp. I was seen for appx 2 mins and given the treatment that was cutting edge 15 years ago. I immediately called the Kalmed clinic afterwards but unfortunately to my disdain Dr Lifson was on holiday. I was very worried at this point. Less than an hour later my phone rang. FaceTime. Dr Lifson who had only met me whilst seeing another patient took the time out of his holiday (almost a full hour) talking to me- giving me advice over the phone and asking about my gp prescription. He then explained EXACTLY what was wrong in great detail. Then changed my prescription, dosage, duration and a course of anti virals just in case. I collected that prescription directly from the dispensary at his office less than an hour later. Meanwhile he remained in contact via text/email eod until his return when his secretary Erin who I also cannot praise more highly gave me a prompt appointment. My single one regret with the Kalmed clinic is that I did not know about it sooner. You can go there in complete confidence, say what you WANT to say and not feel judged whilst your doctor actually listens to you. I repeat as I know for most of us this is unusual so I'll give that a second to sink in. THE DOCTOR LISTENS. Even if like me you are off on tangents. I'm finished my course of treatment yet Dr Lifson continues to keep in touch and ask of my progress. (You know how you feel you don't matter sometimes with your doc? Not here) On another note- I first met Dr Lifson via a friends recommendation (this friend being in 1 Para so I knew he meant it) Unfortunately on this particular occasion it was for my partners father. He had been ignoring a serious stomach pain for almost a year before going to the doctors. All too common in men these days. He had been seen by his gp and given paracetamol. For incurable stomach cancer. Dr Lifson saw him the same day I called and wasted no time and did all that he could. I respected his honesty as he advised that it was so far advanced the best we could hope was for a "dignified" and comfortable exit. However he STILL called the hospital and did Literally everything and anything that he could do. I vouch for this as I was there every time. He has since and continues to help my partners mother as she has suffered from migraines for several years. Her gp originally prescribed her co codamol and dihydrocodiene. A few months ago her gp changed and told her she could not get anymore as she is a "drug addict" (59 year old well to do lady who works very hard) she felt alienated by this and became very sick due to withdrawal symptoms as you would expect if you have been on a drug PRESCRIBED by your doctor. Thanks to Dr Lifson she was then put on a reducing dose and is now on a treatment plan which seems to be working well for her and without the use of strong drugs. In summary I started this review with the statement that only regret was not knowing about him sooner. This is because I strongly believe if we had gotten my partners father to him sooner I believe he could still be with us. If any of these things sound familiar to you do not hesitate any longer and call this clinic. I would give them ten stars if I could. We are not wealthy people by a long shot but none of us grudge the fees in comparison to the wait times of the NHS (I know it's not their fault I'm not on here t bash gps) and the level of humanity offered here. You feel like you matter. In my book thats worth more than anything. Good luck with your health, if you feel it's not right call this clinic. Only comparison is a BH doc

A doctor who has the time to discuss your whole history, follows up to see how you are getting on, and who you can drop an email to and get a personal reply! What's not to like! I could also mention, thorough, knowledgeable and friendly too. Worth using for a second opinion too, if you just want peace of mind! Highly recommended.

Viewfield Medical Practice

3 Viewfield Pl, Stirling FK8 1NJ, UK – 01786 472028

To be fair, its a busy surgery and yes I would like to get an appointment same day but unless its an emergency you cant. On the whole the staff are good despite what must be a difficult and somewhat thankless job. If we want a better health service we need to pay for it !

NHS Direct is now NHS 24. Just dial 111 to speak to a professional or click the link below for there self help website. Lots of really useful info but keep clear of heart surgery! If in doubt ask your GP or call 111. Good luck.

Recently returned from a holiday in Scotland. During my holiday I needed emergency medical assistance. I went to the Minor Injuries unit at Stirling Community Hospital. The assistance I received was fast, efficient. I was referred onto Forth Valley Royal Hospital for further treatment, but this emergency clinic was excellent. A big thank you to nursing staff who were very helpful and caring. Well done NHS Scotland!

Holy Rude

St John St, Stirling FK8 1ED, UK – 01786 475275

A very important historic monument, with great views of the surrounding countryside.

A history major like me couldn’t pass up Holyrood. It pleased me to no end that folks are taking such care of historical sites. It’s worth the visit as Holyrood is so close to other things to see nearby. The gift shop is small, but the prices are remarkably reasonable compared to other places around Scotland.

Find Recycling Centres

John Graham (Metals) Ltd

8 Munro Rd, Stirling FK7 7UU, UK – 01786 461807

Very good customer service throughout. Fast delivery, courteous driver. It took a couple of days to arrange the pickup but all-in-all I'm very happy.

I ordered a skip a few days ago and requested it be delivered first thing in the morning. I was very happy to see that the skip was at the premises before I got there. I am such a poor judge of quantity and once the skip was filled to the top, realised I would require another. I called back and despite them being two drivers short, they managed to deliver a second skip and even called me to give me a heads up for when it would be delivered. 2nd skip was filled very quickly so I called again to request uplift and they uplifted within an hour. Very efficient, polite and also fantastic with communications.

Lower polmaise waste management centre

7fg, Fallin, Stirling FK7 7EQ, UK

Wow, writing a review on a recycling centre, I must be bored. Anyway as recycling centres go you can get rid of pretty much anything here from fridges to gas canisters. Weirdly, despite doing it at the kerbside in stirling, you can't recycle plastic here. Instead it goes in the general waste which ain't great with the big push in the media against plastics at the momeny. Might want to get a bin for that hence the 4 stars. Otherwise the people there are all nice and helpful.

Household and commercial recycling and disposal site. Helpful staff and clear layout. Convenient and long opening times

Salvation Army Stirling Furniture Project

Unit 4, 3a, Munro Rd, Stirling FK7 7UU, UK – 01786 479262

They just don't make stuff like they used to. This is THE place to get good quality stuff made properly. Great cause too

Decent selection of donated furniture and white goods, reasonable prices.

Give and get free stuff. Here you will find lots of items that people are willing to give away, for FREE! This is instead of taking them to a local landfill site. The aim of this site is to reduce the amount of waste that goes to landfill (20.9 million tonnes of it last year in the UK) and recycling is great news for the environment.
We all know that we need to recycle more - and this is a great way of doing it.

With a Trafalgar tour. We were escorted from Stirling Castle down the hill to Hermanns by a wonderful Stirling Castle Piper. Hermanns is a wonderful restaurant that has the kind of service that makes you feel special. The Chef takes the preparation and presentation to the best standards. Put this on your list when in the Stirling town area. As a side note there is a association back to Tyrol Austria. Great fun.

Lovely food and service. Plenty of Gluten free options and we'll priced. Great evening.
